In the last posts I told you about my experience to handle the wing, to stand up and go up and down wind.

Today I want to describe how to keep the speed and repower the wing. It happened quiet a few times that I felt like nothing was moving anymore. I stood on the board and hold the wing. So what to do?
Once you lose tge power in the wing, remember to hold the wing high above your head facing the direction where you want to go. Straighten your front arm and keep it above your head. Now you can start to pull the back hand closer to your body and pump the wing that it again catches the wind.
With an up-wind tack you can also keep your speed better when you turn. To do so first gsin speed before the tack and step forward on your board, practice a quick change of hands in order to face the other direction. The board takes a bit of time to come around but once it starts and you turn into the wind, step back with your other foot and keep riding.

Don't forget to smile no matter it works the first time or not. Trying a new sport always wants practice, practice, practice🤙😄

I suggest practice the change of hands and pumping on land. It is easier for the body to react on the water and put into practice what has been memorized before.

Not the best photo but definitely a day to remember as the fun I had with the wing was unstoppable.
At the beginning it was all about standing and wing handling. Once you get going downwind it comes to a point that you want to go upwind. The turns went better than expected - as the speed slows down balance is everything in this moment. Sometimes I lost the wind and therefore the speed a couple of times but it was easy to start again even directly on the water.
After about an hour I was going up and downwind, could turn but didn't always got to where I wanted to end up.
So this is my next goal, get to where you start it and practice not to loose the speed but of what I heard it is hard without a foil to keep the height as the fins are not long enough. In case you have a board with a sword like the ones for windsurfing it will be easier. Otherwise do not worry the walk upwind is normal and I took it as part of the practice.

Couldn't stop thinking about having a Wing in my h

Couldn't stop thinking about having a Wing in my hand again. So here we are, ready to have some fun on the water but before I hop on this board I put a helmet and an impact vest on. You never know.
For the beginning I am practicing on a SUP board which was pimped up with a fin in the middle line in the center to keep the height easier once you are going.

The Wing: Ozone 4m2 @ozone.wing.ger

Windspeed around: 17-18 knots

Goal: Going downwind and upwind, coming back to where I started
